What Is PENG Block?

PENG block stands for Pulsed Electrochemical, Nitrous Oxide and Glucose block, and it is a form of nerve modulation. It involves administering a bioelectric current and an anesthetic or analgesic agent to the nerves, resulting in both immediate and long-term pain relief. The current helps to interrupt the pain transmission to the brain while also promoting tissue healing; meanwhile, the anesthesia or analgesia works by desensitizing the nerves.

This form of nerve modulation has been shown to provide fast and effective relief from chronic muscle spasms, neuralgia, tendinitis, headaches, postoperative pain and much more. In addition, research studies have demonstrated that PENG block can significantly reduce the need for opioid medication while providing improved quality of life following procedures.
